Terms of Service
Effective date: July 18, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Salt & Temper (the “Service”), operated by Stratford Digital LLC, doing business as Salt & Temper (“we”, “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service does
Salt & Temper estimates the nutritional macros of a recipe and can propose ingredient substitutions to move those macros toward a target. Macros are computed from public United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) FoodData Central data combined with automated text processing and deterministic math.
2. Not medical or nutritional advice
The Service provides estimates for general informational purposes only. It is not medical, dietary, or nutritional advice, is not a substitute for a physician or registered dietitian, and must not be relied on to diagnose, treat, or manage any health condition. Consult a qualified professional before making dietary changes, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, managing a medical condition, or have food allergies or intolerances.
3. Accuracy and allergen safety
Macro figures are estimates and may differ from the actual nutritional content of the food you prepare, due to ingredient variation, brands, portion measurement, preparation, and limitations of the underlying data and matching. We do not warrant that any figure is accurate or complete.
Re-engineered recipes and ingredient swaps are automated suggestions, not guarantees. They are not certified as allergen-free, gluten-free, vegan, kosher, halal, or compliant with any specific diet, and may introduce ingredients that conflict with your dietary needs or allergies. You are responsible for verifying every ingredient against your own allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements before preparing or consuming any recipe.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any law or regulation;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- submit content you do not have the right to submit, or use the Service to infringe others’ rights.
We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access to protect the Service or other users.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and content (excluding USDA public-domain data and recipe text you submit), is owned by Stratford Digital LLC and protected by applicable law. You retain rights to recipe text you submit; you grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide the Service.
6. Memberships, trials, and billing
Parts of the Service are offered as a paid membership. Payments are handled by Stripe, our merchant of record: Stripe provides the checkout, processes your payment, and issues refunds and invoices on our behalf, and your purchase is also subject to Stripe’s consumer terms. Charges may appear on your statement as “LINK.COM”.
- Free trial. Memberships start with a 14-day free trial. A card is required to start; you are not charged during the trial, we email you before it converts, and you can cancel in one click from your account before it does.
- Renewal. After the trial, your membership renews automatically (monthly or yearly, as chosen at checkout) until you cancel. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access through the period you already paid for.
- Refunds. Every charge is refundable within 14 days on request. See the Refund Policy for how.
- Price changes. If prices change, we will notify you in advance and the new price applies from your next renewal. If you do not agree, cancel before it takes effect.
- Fair use. Monthly usage allowances (shown on the pricing page) exist because every run performs real computation. Unused allowances do not roll over; credit packs top up a bigger month.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stratford Digital LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on macro estimates or ingredient suggestions.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
